Eligibility to get valid caste certificate for IBPS exams (PO, RRB, SO)

The candidate must fulfill all the eligibility criteria for getting the caste certificate for IBPS interview. The conditions are mentioned below:

  • Candidate should have citizenship of India
  • Candidate must possess a permanent resident address and the address of currently residing
  • Candidate must actually belong to the scheduled caste/ scheduled tribe/ other backward classes.
  • Candidate must produce any government document supporting his/ her class identity.
  • Candidate must possess the identity proof.
  • A person who was not an SC/ ST by birth will not be granted the certificate just because he/she has married a person belonging to SC/ ST

How to get the Valid Caste Certificate for IBPS Exam

Candidates are required to submit an IBPS prescribed caste certificate form by online mode or can submit the application from the local office in the city or town or village, of the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM).

For Citizenship: The candidate must attach the voter ID, Pan card and birth certificate, caste certificate of parents, any government document providing citizenship. The candidate should submit all these documents in order to get the valid certificate proving your citizenship.

For Permanent address: The candidate should submit land deed or land tax receipt, voter list proving residence since 1950, the birth certificate proving residence since 1950, ration card proving residence since 1950, caste certificate of parents and any government document proving permanent residence since 1950. For permanent address proof, the above-mentioned documents need to be submitted.

For Local residence: The candidate should submit some documents giving proof for residing in the local area. The candidate needs to submit rent receipt, passbook of a nationalized bank, Gramin bank, post office or co-operative bank, BPL card, any government document proving local residence, electricity bill.

For Caste Identity: The candidate needs to submit the caste certificate of any paternal blood relation and proof of such relation, a copy of old land deed (prior to 1950) specifying community name in that document, any government document proving caste identity. The candidate must make sure to submit all the required documents in order to get the valid caste certificate.

For Identity: The candidate needs to submit the identity card by the employer or educational institution, pass book of bank account, admit card, ration card. The candidate must submit the entire specified document on time to avoid any discrepancy.

The above documents need to be attached with the application so that when the concerned offices receive the applications, should verify the documents and once the verification of the documents is done successfully the concerned offices will issue the caste certificate.
