SBI Clerk online examination which would be conducted in two phases – preliminary and mains.

The first section is the English language in which the number of questions would be 30 and maximum marks would be 30.
The second section is numerical ability in which the number of questions would be 35 and the maximum marks awarded for this section is 35.
The next and last section of this exam is reasoning ability in which the total number of questions would be 35 and the maximum marks awarded would be 35 only.
So the total number of questions would be 30+35+35=100 and the total marks would be 30+35+35=100 and the overall time duration would be 1 hour to complete this test.
Candidates passing in this examination would be shortlisted for the main examination, it depends on the adequate number of candidates decided by bank in each category.
SBI Clerk Mains Exam Structure
SBI clerk mains exam would be conducted online and the marks for the exam would be 200. This test would consist of 190 objective type questions and the time duration for this exam would be 2 hours 40 minutes.
The exam is divided into 5 sections and candidates need to qualify in each of the sections by securing the cutoffs decided by the bank.

The first section will be General/ Financial awareness having total marks allotted for this section would be 50 and the total time allotted for this section is 35 minutes only.
The second section is General English having the total marks allotted for this section is 40 and the time duration for this section is 35 minutes.
The third section is Quantitative Aptitude for which the total marks allotted are 50 and the time frame for this section is 45 minutes.
And the next two sections are combined which is Reasoning ability and computer aptitude for which the total marks allotted are 60 and time allotted is 45 minutes.
So the total marks for all the sections are 50+40+50+60=200 and the total time frame allotted for the entire exam is 35+35+45+45=160 minutes which means 2 hours and 40 minutes.

SBI Clerk Marking Scheme
There would be negative marking for both the exams. For each correct response, 1 mark would be awarded to the candidate and for each incorrect response ¼ mark of the correct response, marks would be deducted.
And no deduction would be there for no response means if no option is selected in any question or if a question remains unattempt then no deduction would be there.
For Preliminary the calculations would be = 100 – (1*number of correct answers – 0.25 *mark for each incorrect answer).
For Mains, the calculations would be = 200 – (1*number of correct answers – 0.25*mark for each incorrect answer).
Test of knowledge of the official language
For confirmation of official language criteria, the candidate needs to produce 10th mark sheet/ certificate showing that they have studied the official language of the state and will not be subjected to any language test.
In the case of others, a language test will be conducted before final selection. Candidates who are not found to be proficient in the official/ local language will be disqualified.
SBI Clerk Cut off scores 2020
SBI has decided the cutoffs for each section of the examination in which a candidate needs to at least score that much marks to qualify in the examination.
For preliminary exam the cut-offs are, for the first section of the Reasoning ability is 7.75 for general and 3.25 for OBC/ST/SC/OH/VI/HI/DXS.
For the second section of Numerical ability, the cut off is 5.5 for general and for others mentioned above is 2. For the third section of the English language, the cut off is 6.75 for general and for others mentioned above is 3.25.
For mains examination the cut-offs are, for the first section of General/ Financial awareness is 13.5 for general and for SC/ ST/ OBC is 9.5 and for OH/ VI/ HI/XS/DXS is 3.25.
For the second section of general English, the cut off is 14.3 for general and 10.25 for the second category mentioned above and 4.5 for the third category mentioned above.
For the third section of Quantitative aptitude, the cut off is 14.5 for general and 11.25 for the second category mentioned above and 6.5 for the third category mentioned above.
For the last section of reasoning ability and computer aptitude, the cut off for general is 24 and 19 for the second category mentioned above and 11.25 for the third category mentioned above.
