Every year, IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel and Selection) conducts examinations on behalf of its participating 20 banks ( IBPS Participating private/public sector and regional rural banks), the whole over INDIA to acquire skillful manpower in order to fill its number of vacancies at different-different posts.

IBPS Verbal Reasoning topics

In verbal reasoning test, student knowledge to solve the problems quickly and that too with full accuracy is tested so that the ability to make decision power can be judged on the grounds of banking hindrances. It includes number of topics such as-

Number series, Letter & symbol series, Statement, and argument, Logical Reasoning problems, Alphabet test, Passage, and conclusions, Blood relations, Direction sense test, Input output, Coding-decoding, Number Ranking, Making judgments, analogy, classification, series, logical arrangement of words, inserting the missing character, mathematical operations, Venn diagram, clock, calendar, statement and conclusion, situation reaction tests, sitting arrangements, cause and effects, puzzles, course of action, assertion and reason, syllogism, statement and arguments, input and output, analytical reasoning, data sufficiency, statement and assumptions. IBPS Non-verbal Reasoning topics

At the above table, the marks distribution of reasoning subject for pre exam is not displayed. So, for your kind information, there is a set of 30 questions in clerk exam while it is 35 questions set in PO pre exams.

It is to be kindly noted that the exam for IBPS PO demands to attempt the subject questions in the given allotted time only, that is, you need to complete the one subject at one time only in the given time limit.

There is no separate time limit allotment for pre exam in both Bank clerk and PO examination.

There is separate time allotment for each subject in mains exam for Bank clerk and PO examination.

For particular reasoning subject, you’ll be given only 30 minutes on solving 50 questions in PO mains exam.

Similarly, less than 60 minutes (or around 30 minutes) will be allotted to you for attempting clerk reasoning exam on 40 questions.

Note that, a penalty will be charged on every wrong answer attempted following which 0.25 marks will be deducted. This is applicable in every kind of IBPS exam (clerk/PO/RRB/SO).
